Cookie Policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in a comparable way. They help a website work, keep it secure and, in some cases, show the owner how it is used.

2. How we use cookies

Our website is built and hosted on Squarespace. The cookies it may set fall into two groups. The exact list depends on the features of the site and may change; Squarespace publishes its full list at support.squarespace.com (search “The cookies Squarespace uses”).

Strictly necessary cookies. These make the site work and keep it secure, and we do not need your consent for them. Examples:

crumb: protects the site against cross-site request forgery (lasts for your visit)

RecentRedirect: prevents redirect loops (30 minutes)

_ssid: helps detect fraud by recognising devices (up to four years)

ss_performanceCookiesAllowed and ss_marketingCookiesAllowed: remember your cookie choices (30 days)

Analytics cookies. We use Squarespace Analytics to count visits and see which pages are viewed, so we can understand and improve the site. The cookies are ss_cvr, ss_cid and ss_cpvisit (up to two years) and ss_cvt and ss_cvisit (30 minutes). Not all of them are set on every visit. We only set these if you accept them.

Marketing cookies. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies.

3. Your choices

When you first visit our site, a cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, decline all non-essential cookies, or manage which ones to allow. Your choice is remembered for 30 days, after which we will ask again. You can change your choice, including withdrawing consent, at any time using the Cookie Preferences button on the site.

4. Third-party services

Spam protection. Our website uses Google reCAPTCHA to help protect our forms and site from spam and abuse. It loads when you visit and may store small items (called rc::a and rc::c) in your browser’s storage to tell people from automated bots. Google may receive information such as your IP address and device details. This is covered by Google’s Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and Terms of Service (policies.google.com/terms). We treat this as necessary for security, so it runs whether or not you accept analytics cookies.

Map. The map in our contact section is an image. If you click it, it opens a map service in a new browser tab, and that service has its own cookie policy.

Other providers. If we add content from other providers in future, they may set their own cookies, which we do not control. Please see their own policies for details.

5. Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the site may not work properly. For general guidance on cookies, visit ico.org.uk.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
